Our Story
In the fall of 2014, several families began seeking God’s will about planting a new church in Northwest Arkansas.
We believed that He was calling us to step out in faith and form a local church body with a distinctive mission. After many meetings, discussions, and prayers, eight couples gathered on December 5, 2014 to officially establish Generations Church of Arkansas.
When the original Silent Grove Baptist Church closed their doors they gifted the current building to us in 2016 as a legacy of their ministry in north Springdale.
In 2021, a gospel partnership was formed between Generations Church and University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. In 2022, the members of Generations Church voted to call Terry Irwin (a former member of UBC and pastoral intern) to serve as our Lead Pastor.
In 2025, through much teaching, prayer, and discussion, our church voted to change our name from Generations Church to Silent Grove Baptist Church. While we remain the same family of believers and the same church, this change reflects a renewed focus on the gospel as the foundation of our identity, along with a heartfelt desire to reach and serve our neighbors with the gospel.
This name also pays respect to the historic Baptist church that once resided in our building and our community.
Alongside our new name, we’ve updated our mission statement and core values to align with our vision going forward.
Like any church, we’ve had our ups and downs but God has been faithful to us throughout it all. Our hope is that he would continue to be glorified through us as we continue to grow together as his people.
